The company "Taro Investments" is registered in London under the jurisdiction of Great Britain since 1988. The representation of the company is registered in Tbilisi since 1993. Since 2002 the realization of the investment program in viticulture and winemaking in Georgia began. The drawing of investments in the field of viticulture and winemaking began due to financing from private French investors who actively participate in the work of the company. The representatives of the French side are constantly both in Tbilisi and in Kakheti region.

In Signagi region, ancient capital of Kiziki, or Kambechovani (Kiziki was called so), on the territory near Khornabuji, we rented for 49 years territory where vineyards were formerly. The work is also conducted in Western Georgia, particularly in Imereti (village Bagdadi) and in Guria region.

Selection works were the basic task of the first stage. We decided to investigate and collect all unique varieties which are on the verge of disappearance on the territory of Georgia. We carried out grafting and planting works, created a nursery, where we produce annually 2 000 000 grafts. We annually plant vineyards on 100 ha. The company also imported vine plants of french varieties from France and planted them on their vineyards.

The American program ACDI/VOCA helped us a lot by sending marketing specialist, viticulture specialist , and consultant winemaker to our company gratis.

By November 2002 the company planted one-year plants on the territory of 100 ha. 2 000 000 plants were grown in the nursery, they will be replaced to the vineyard in November, 2002.

We apply the most advanced methods of nursery treatment, such as using of polyethilene film and so on. Our company has a rather powerful machinery and tractors stock which includes up to 100 tractors and other agronomical technics.

In august 2002 the winery was started up. It is located near vineyards and it is equipped with modern equipment of the Italian company “Della Toffola”.

The modern technological line for processing grapes, unique properties of Georgian varieties, combination of the technologies of Georgian and French winemakers, strict laboratory control, consultation of foreign specialists on each stage of the technological chain allow us to produce 15 types and 60 names of high quality wines both from Georgian and imported from France varieties.

Our company is one of the evident examples of agriculture development in Georgia due to foreign investors.
